On completion of year 12 at ISHS, I commenced my university studies at the University of Queeensland
attaining a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1990. With my sister Jeanie and a group of Brisbane physiotherapy graduates, I moved
to Canberra to start my working career in Physiotherapy. In 1993, I packed by bags and began an overseas working
holiday to the UK and Europe for 12 months with Jeanie and good friend Tania (another physio). Working in the UK and travelling
through Europe was great fun and novel...so much to see and do. I returned to Canberra in Feb 1994 and secured a
promotion as senior ICU Physiotherapist in 1995 at The Canberra Hospital. At birthday celebrations in November 1998, I
met Steve (my future husband) through a mutual friend. Steve and I married in Canberra in November 2000 and have
continued living in Canberra. Since 2001 I have worked in a senior management/clinican role which I find challenging and stimulating.
In December 2002, our son Jackson arrived a little earlier than anticipated. Jackson is our pride and joy. Balancing roles
of motherhood, family and part time work is a little more complicated but very fulfilling. I have just started a project officer
role for allied health in the short term. Our family life is very busy and we enjoy travelling, camping during the
warmer months and once upon a time before children, I was trying to improve my golf game. Steve and I are expecting
Baby number 2 in early August and hence I will not be attending the reunion. I hope everyone has a wonderful time catching
up over the last 20 years.
